A different kind of career assessment examines career choices retrospectively, long after graduation. Companies and individuals, specialized in career coaching, will examine the person's salary, benefits package, importance to the company, job satisfaction, and the stability of the company and the industry.
Company loyalty and the ability to work at the same company for thirty years no longer exists. Even a good stable company can have major changes and no job is stable. An employment coach can help you find your strengths and weaknesses and make suggestions for new employment options are career paths.
Many students have long since decided on what career they want. A coach can help them determine if they have the proper skill set and educational achievement to accomplish their career goals. Many students may have wanted to do something since they were small children, but don't enjoy the preparation that is required to enter their chosen career. It may initially seem unusual to tell one of your own employees that his current job may not be the best for him, but this is actually a good idea. It shows that you are truly concerned about his mental state and happiness. If you discover that someone is unhappy, relocating him or her will benefit both of you.
Employees who are happy in their careers and doing well can benefit too. They will receive the same positive image of a company that truly cares about their interests and does not simply fixate upon the bottom line. If they remain loyal, they can expect a good future. Career assessment by companies then, can be helpful for everyone.
Assessment of a person's career is a two milestone thing. The first milestone which comes early in a person' life is known as career coaching development. This basically identifies the strengths/weaknesses of a student and thereby helps him evaluate as what careers would suit him. The second milestone comes a little later in life. This assesses the choice made in terms of one's career, looking beyond a good salary and a reputed organization. Career assessment is useful to students as well as employees. Taking up a professional career involves a lot of things- a good assessment is just one of them. A career coach sees the bigger picture.
